What is Relimie's philosophy?
We don't believe that just logging your drinks and staring at charts tells you anything new or actually changes your behavior. What makes the difference is having a system to act on the data. That system is simple, and we call it baseline-drinking: instead of a daily limit you pass or fail, you work from a long-term baseline (your normal, averaged over time), and the app gently nudges you back toward it and helps you step it down over time.
Just as important, the numbers alone don't explain why you drink. It matters to understand the reasons behind a drink, the consequences the next day, and how you feel — including the positive feelings on sober days. That's why Relimie comes with an alcohol diary and tag system that captures this context right alongside your data.
Relimie is built to support mindful, moderate drinking and the sober-curious approach — no guilt, no preaching, and no requirement to quit. But it works just as well if quitting altogether is your goal: there the diary is especially valuable, helping you understand the reasons behind an urge and see how to avoid the situations that trigger it.
One honest note: Relimie can't guarantee that you'll reach your goals — that part is on you. The app can only provide the support and the system to make it easier; following through is your responsibility.
What is a Personal Baseline?
Your Personal Baseline is a long-term anchor for your drinking. By default it's expressed as a daily amount of pure alcohol in grams, but you're not tied to that — on the Settings → Personalization page you can define and view it in whatever units feel natural to you: grams of pure alcohol, standard US, UK, or Australian units, or even an amount of your favorite type of drink. It is not a strict daily limit you must never cross. Think of it as a long-term average you aim to stay around — some days a little more, some days less or none at all. What matters is the trend over time.
There are two ways to follow your progress against it:
- Tap the Orb on the Home Screen to see your baseline trend visualized in color at a glance: Green (comfortably within your baseline), Gold (slightly over), or Red (consider pausing for a few days to bring your average back in line).
- Open the Trends section of the Analytics Hub for your "Target Progress," which calculates exactly how much sober buffer you have left or how many sober days you need to return to your baseline.
How do I choose the right baseline?
Setting your baseline for the very first time is the tricky part, because most people honestly don't know what number to put there. So Relimie helps you start. For many countries we show reference values based on your country and gender — and where that data isn't available, we fall back to a worldwide average. You get two reference points: the WHO recommendation (a health-based guideline) and the average (roughly what people around you actually drink). If you have no idea where to begin, just start with the average for your country and gender.
From there you don't need to get it perfect. As you keep logging, Relimie shows how your real average consumption compares to the baseline you chose and suggests how to adjust it. Depending on your drinking habits, give it a few weeks to settle — the baseline needs some data before the picture becomes clear. A good sign to lower it: if you consistently drink well below your current baseline, tighten it a little — your target can grow stricter as you grow stronger. You can change it anytime under Settings → Personalization, and all of this stays on your device.
How does the baseline help me reduce my drinking?
This is the core of how Relimie works. If reducing is your goal, the aim is simple to state: push your baseline down over time, and consistently stay within it. The two feed each other — staying within a baseline earns you the room to lower it, and a lower baseline pulls your habits down with it.
The baseline trend (the colored Orb and the Trends view) is what guides those adjustments honestly:
- If you're consistently Gold or Red, you were probably a little too optimistic when you set it. That's okay — be honest with yourself and adjust the baseline up to a level you can actually hold, then start working down from there.
- If you're consistently Green with a comfortable buffer built up (for example, around 500 g of pure alcohol below your baseline, or the equivalent in your chosen units), that's your signal to adjust the baseline down a notch.
Repeat that loop — hold the line, then tighten it — and your drinking genuinely comes down step by step. Just remember the app only suggests and shows: it gives you the system and honest feedback, but logging accurately and following through is on you.
Can I use Relimie for Dry January or Sober October?
Absolutely. Relimie is a natural companion for Dry January, Sober October, or any sober stretch you set yourself. Mark each day sober with a single tap on the Orb, and Relimie turns the whole month into a clear streak you can watch grow. The Analytics Hub shows your run of sober days at a glance, the Body Recovery Timeline counts what your body regains along the way, and the Cravings Breaker is there for the evenings when an old habit pushes back. Because the app works from a long-term baseline rather than a hard rule, it doesn't treat a single slip as failure — you just pick the streak back up. When the challenge ends, your alcohol diary and trends help you decide what to carry forward into more mindful, moderate drinking the rest of the year.
How do I use the analytics features?
Open the Analytics Hub by swiping up from the Home Screen or tapping the grid icon. Inside you'll find: Overview (daily average spending, calories, and your ratio of sober to drinking days — free), Habits (a graphical view of your patterns), Trends (the specific days and times you're most likely to drift off course), History/Log (revisit any past date to adjust entries), and a chronological heatmap. Rotate your phone to landscape on the Home Screen to open a full-screen Consumption Chart (Premium); on tablets, which stay in portrait, you can open the same chart from a button on the Consumption History in the Hub. When you want to, you can export a "Share My Story" PDF (without your private notes) or a full JSON backup — all without your data ever leaving the device.
What is the Cravings Breaker?
Sometimes an urge to drink shows up for no big reason at all — often it's just an old habit, like reaching for a drink on a Friday evening. In those moments you don't need willpower for hours; usually a few minutes of something else to occupy your mind is enough for the urge to pass. That's where Relimie's Cravings Breaker comes in handy.
Long-press the Orb on the Home Screen to open it. The Cravings Breaker guides you through a 4-7-8 breathing exercise to calm down, with a few inspirational quotes to steady your focus until the moment passes. Flip the quote card and you'll also see your Body Recovery Timeline — what your body has been regaining since your last drink — as one more bit of motivation to stay sober.
Can I create my own drinks?
Yes. Relimie ships with a catalog of preset drinks, but you can add your own in seconds. Type what you're having into the search bar, and if there's no match the AI Sparkle button appears — tap it and Relimie researches and fills in the right volume, ABV, and calories for you. AI-assisted creation is available on all plans, with monthly limits that scale by tier.
How do I log past days (drinks and sober days)?
For recent days, swipe left on the horizontal date picker on the Home Screen to move back in time. On a past day, tap Add Drink to log a drink, or simply tap the Orb to mark that day as sober. For dates farther back, open the Analytics Hub and tap the Chronological Heatmap to jump to any date.
Logging your sober days matters just as much as your drinks — the baseline is only accurate if both are recorded. If you mostly open the app on days you drink, the sober days in between can pile up, and entering them one by one is a chore. Relimie makes it quick:
- Tap the Orb on any past day that has no entry yet to log it as a sober day.
- To fill a whole stretch at once, go to the most recent day you missed and long-press the Orb. A dialog appears asking if you want to mark every day sober back to your last logged entry — confirm, and the entire gap is filled in one step.
How do I enter or adjust my spending?
You have two ways to adjust prices. To change the standard price of a specific drink globally, long-press the drink card in the catalog. If your total for the day doesn't match the automatic sum (e.g., due to a discount or shared bill), you can long-press the Total Price in the bottom summary bar on the Logger Screen to manually adjust the final daily amount.
Is Relimie free?
Logging your drinks, money, and calories is always free, with no paywall on the basics — and so are the interactive Orb, the 4-7-8 breathing exercise, and the Body Recovery Timeline. The deeper analytics and the full diary live in Relimie Premium, and your first 20 logged days are free to explore them, so you can decide at your own pace. (Only days with real content count toward those 20 — pure sober days never use up your trial.)
Is my data private?
Completely. Everything stays on your device: no account, no email, no cloud, no third-party analytics, and no cookies. The only network feature is optional AI drink creation, which sends just your short text description (plus your country/currency setting) to generate the drink — nothing personal leaves your phone. You can export a clean PDF report or a full backup whenever you like. See our Privacy Policy for the full details.
